Nothing says romance than doing it the way the Romans do. Candlelit dinners, with great traditional Italian food and the sheer romance from saying:
Cara mia, ti voglio bene. (My darling, I love you.)
It is said that anything said in a foreign tongue sounds exotic, daring and romantic, which is why learning a few Italian word translations are good notches to add to one’s belt of knowledge. Here are some common Italian word translations:
- Ciao – is the most commonly used Italian word. Ciao is used both to say hi and say good bye.
- Buon – this is the Italian word for good. It is commonly heard during common greeting such as Buongiorno for Good morning, Buon Pomeriggio for good afternoon, buona sera for good evening, buona notte for good night.
- Grazie – Thank You. When learning a foreign language, it is important to learn polite phrases. Such as thank you, Prego for “you’re welcome”
- Non parlo italiano – for when you have to flat out admit that you do not understand Italian.
These are just some of the most common Italian to English translations. Italian is a beautiful, melodic and romantic language. This is only the beginning of learning a beautiful thing. Ciao, bella.
